Rwanda Kanzu Natural Day Lot

We're back with another fabulous Rwandan coffee from the Kanzu washing station! These folks work with more than 535 farmers who have extensive experience and training in growing high quality coffee. As a hub for producers, Kanzu has also netted certifications from international programs like the Rainforest Alliance. With these coffees coming from around the area near Lake Kivu and the Nyungwe National Forest, the region’s biodiversity and microclimate lend many positive characteristics to this lot’s outstanding complexity and expressive flavors.

Here we have the results of what you could say is "all in a day's work." One day's worth of coffee cherries from local smallholder producers yielded this result; reflecting the various nuances from everyone's different growing inputs and the microclimates of their land. Instead of the wild fruitiness of previous Rwandan offerings, this one speaks a quiter depth of dried stone fruit, strawberry jam, and lime. Backing this up is a controlled acid and a dreamlike whisper of botanical jasmine, ginger, and lemongrass. If you're looking for an easily accessible but layered daily driver, here's a great pick!
